This week, Scottish Craft Butchers had their product evaluation, with all Champions being members of Scotch Butchers Club - a fantastic accolade for the club and its members.
In the category of best beef link sausage, it was a 'sizzling success' for DH Robertson Butchers of Arbroath, who can now proudly say that they make the best beef links in Scotland after being announced champions at the Scottish Craft Butcher Awards 2022. There was a huge 'slice' of success for A&I Quality Butchers of Culloden as they took home the award for Scotland's best sliced sausage in what owner butcher Ali Paul, who has been in the trade for 45 years, described as being comparable to an athlete winning gold at the Olympics. The Scottish Craft Butchers award for best Scottish black pudding went to McCaskie's of Wemyss Bay, where owner Nigel Ovens collected the same award they previously won back in 2004. Read more about this multi award-winning family butcher's achievement at the link here.
There was also a great amount of silver and bronze awards dished out to several Scotch Butchers Club members. We would like to congratulate all on these achievements that will help continue to drive their businesses in a positive direction, whilst communicating the excellent standard of butchery here in Scotland.
